Lady Morwenna of Brynmor
The noblewoman who bankrolled the last Sigil Knights and commanded the archers on Ravenspire's wall.
Archetype
Authority worn without ornament. She summons, commands, supplies and holds; the war runs on her word as much as on Eadric's sword.
Direct, strategic, allergic to court games she nonetheless plays perfectly. She spends her house's power on a fading cause because it is the right one.
The story
House Brynmor stood with the Sigil Knights when every other house looked away. Morwenna is its voice: the one who summoned Eadric to Albansreach when the Chains of Greed took the chancellor, who waited for him at the Sanctum of Reflections, and who told him plainly that the Mirror of Betrayal breaks men.
At the Siege of Ravenspire she commanded the archers of the south wall, stood on the crumbled parapet with an empty quiver, and did not leave. On Hollowpeak she put arrows through Zorynthal's eyes and was thrown into a pillar for it, and she walked off the mountain at dawn with the survivors.
Her city was not spared. Brynmor's own chancellor sold its council to Malakar, and its people went hungry under Dragon Kin banners while she fought elsewhere. It is a wound she has not yet answered.
Appearance
Long raven-black hair braided back, pale skin, piercing grey-green eyes, a grim aristocratic presence out of place among courtly finery. She wears an emerald riding coat over dark leather with silver fittings, the raven-over-tower crest of House Brynmor at her throat, and a long fur-lined emerald cloak.
Signature
A tall recurve longbow of dark wood inlaid with silver, and a quiver of black-fletched arrows she laces with venom for dragons.
