The story
The Usurper claimed the throne through deceit and bloodshed in the Shattered Age and set out to annihilate the old order. His forces met Sir Ardent Carroway's farmers and old soldiers at the Battle of the Iron Wastes and withdrew decimated. His name is not remembered. Ardent's is.
