Elyndra
The wandering harpist whose song rekindled a dead hearth and a dying village.
Archetype
The creator who awakens creation in others. Her song does not save anyone; it reminds them they were never lost.
Gentle, artistic, present, unwilling to stay where she is not needed. She gives everything and keeps nothing.
The story
Elyndra walks into places where time has surrendered. A forgotten mountain village, its fields choked with vines, its great stone hearth cold for years, its children hollow-eyed. The elder told her she was wasting her time. She knelt by the hearth, set her harp against it and said she brought no promises, only a song.
The Song of the Last Ember is the closest thing Albion has to a miracle without a sword in it. As she played, the hearth glowed, then blazed; the villagers took up tools they had abandoned; the children laughed. She left at dawn with a carved stone as her only payment. 'The ember burns brightest when tended by its own.'
Appearance
Long straight silver hair like moonlight, luminous silver-grey eyes, fair skin with light freckles, a small silver ring in her lip. She wears pale grey and silver traveller's clothes, a hooded mist-grey cloak dusted with road grime, thin silver chains at her wrists.
Signature
A harp of dark carved wood strung with real silver, its frame carved with runes that glow when she plays.
Words
Not all embers are lost.
The ember is not a gift. It is a choice.
